From the terrifying darkness of a room in Mosul, the northern Iraq city where she was held as a sex slave, to the glittering lights of the Awards ceremony, Nadia Murad, 23, co-winner of the Nobel Prize for 2018, had travelled a long way.
Susan Korah from IofC Canada and a member of the communications team of Towards an Inclusive Peace Forum 2017 , came close to hearing of Nadia’s experience first-hand when she interviewed Farida Abbas, a fellow Yazidi survivor. Farida had traveled from Germany to Caux to lend her voice to the topic of combatting violent extremism. Susan reflects on the importance of learning from Nadia’s story and the role of Good Samaritans in life’s journey.
