Promoting trust, ethics and integrity in the workplace was a major theme of a TIGERoadshow in Edinburgh, on Trust and Integrity in the Global Economy, held on 7 May. It was hosted by Tods Murray LLP’s Women in Business network and The3rdiMagazine. The roadshow was invited to Edinburgh by the magazine’s editor, Karen Birch. This was the third event in a series of one-day conferences organised by Initiatives of Change UK’s Trust and Integrity in the Global Economy (TIGE) programme.

A passionate appeal for lasting peace in South Sudan DVD

During three months last year Nigerian film-maker Dele Ajakaiye documented the 'Journey for national healing and reconciliation in South Sudan', in which Initiatives of Change was a partner. His wife, Amina Dikedi-Ajakaiye, was Project Director for IofC International in its collaboration with the Office of President during the start of the project, which included the training of 200 'Peace and Reconciliation Mobilizers', some of whom are seen in this video. From this involvement, Dele produced this video message for the present crisis.

Peace and reconciliation in Kenya

12 December 2013 marks 50 years of Kenyan independence. People came to Nairobi from the desert reaches bordering Somalia, the port city of Mombasa, the drylands of Baringo and the political hotbed of Eldoret. The All Africa Conference of Churches provided the venue without charge. The theme of the gathering was ‘The dynamics of peace and reconciliation in Kenya’. It was facilitated by internationally acclaimed peacemakers from Nigeria, Imam Dr Muhammad Ashafa and Pastor Dr James Wuye.

In late November the Open Ukraine Foundation and Initiatives of Change jointly designed and led a two-day Forum for young professionals from 13 countries of Eastern Europe and the Black Sea region. Held in association with Chatham House, Britain’s Institute of International Affairs, it brought together people working in government, academia and civil society.

Discussion on knowledge workers

The second day of the fifth international conference of Caux Initiatives for Business began with the participants sitting in a circle around a lamp to offer prayers from their respective faiths—followers of Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, Tibetan Buddhism and Zoroastrianism sang hymns, poems and chants in different languages, from Hindi and Bengali to Swahili and English.
