Africa Coordination Group (ACG)


Its mandate is to coordinate the work of IofC in Africa and assist in fund raising where possible.

  • To give care – listen, support, nurture.
  • To encourage growth – refocus & recreate the spirit and purpose of the team.
  • To identify opportunities for networking.
  • To identify needs in different situations & recommend possible solutions.


Key Work Focus Areas

  • Mentoring of national teams: Growing a network of capacitated national bodies that are coached in their roles and supported as they implement IofC work across the region.
  • Outreach and team development: Harnessing and maintaining visits across the continent for regional fellowship, exchange of skills, resources, and opportunities to work together.
  • Skill development and pool of train the trainers: Equipping committed members to be able to train others towards a robust continental response where it’s needed and be able to design as well as develop a framework of constancy in training. Programmes such as Harambee leadership, Workshop for Africa and East Africa Youth Forum.




Roy NcubeRoy Ncube, Zimbabwe

In his portfolio as the Convener for the ACG, Roy is a Zimbabwean serving as one of the panel of Elders for IofC international and regionally serves on the board of IofC Zimbabwe and South Africa. In 1985 as a student Roy was introduced to IofC. Currently a farmer after years of teaching agriculture. Roy also enjoys his role as a father, a husband and inspiration to many youths he mentors.


Francis AcquahFrancis Acquah, Ghana

As a Doctor and an ordained Minister of the Methodist Church in Ghana. Rev Francis is religious leader, who has been working with various religious groups, political leaders and social activists to offers meaningful service. Rev Francis is currently lecturing in Religious Studies and Ethics at the Methodist University College, Ghana. He is serving in the portfolio of training for ACG.


Victoria KumkayatchaVictoria Kumkayatcha, Uganda

A mother, Social worker by profession, a wife and community builder living and working in Kampala, Uganda. Special interest in project management and outreach to vulnerable and forgotten communities. A member of IofC since 2006, when a friend introduced this special yet life changing family of Initiatives of Change/ MRA Uganda to Vicky. Served as the youth coordinator of Initiatives of Change /MRA Uganda in 2014 and believe Change is Power.


Marc BukuruMarc Bukuru, Burundi

As a Burundian, Marc who is a Business Administration and Management graduate has been part of the Initiative of Change network and served the Francophone community in and outside Burundi with hugely the Creators of Peace programme under the leadership of Daphrose Ntaratase since 2014, and the East Africa youth Forum.

As father and husband, worked as the Independent Communal Electoral Commission / Communal and presidential elections. Currently involved in activities of coordination and volunteering in different youth programmes of Initiatives of Change and Burundi, such as Leadership project for Burundi youth, Creators of Peace and Peace Consolidation project.


Steven KimaruSteve Kimaru, Kenya

Stephen Kimaru from Kenya is a husband and father of two lovely daughters has been involved with Initiatives of change for over 14 years. He met IofC while studying law in university. He has been involved heavily with the network ever since.

He has served the network on different capacities through different initiatives in Kenya, Africa and beyond. This has exposed him to a variety of trainings and different environments. He’s been involved in major programs like Clean Elections Campaign, reconciliation work in Kenya, Eastern Africa Youth Program, Workshop for Africa and A journey of healing for national reconciliation in South Sudan just to mention a few.

Currently he serves as member of IofC Kenya board as the Secretary and treasurer and also a member of the Governing body of Initiatives of Change International as a Council member.

Stephen is also a business man and runs a tour company that advocates for sustainable tourism and impact travel.


Cleopadia MohlaodiCleopadia Mohlaodi, South Africa

From South Africa, Cleopadia Mohlaodi who is the webmaster for Pan African website of Initiatives of Change and the National Coordinator for Initiatives of Change in South Africa encountered Initiatives of Change in 2007 while attending the first ever Creators of Peace in South Africa. The turnaround question for me was ‘what is the Peace your seeking in you that can give the Peace the world needs?’, I have been on a journey since then with every learning and growth makes me see the bigger role I need to continue playing in making an African child be at home with themselves.

As the Communication officer within the ACG, she has received training in early childhood development, Information technology and Business management with additional training in Africa leadership through the Harambee leadership programme and hospitality as one of the department managers at Caux, Switzerland the International IofC Conference centre. Currently have huge interest in emotional therapy, transformation and Change management.
